Our electrical installations in Birmingham are planned with you first, so sockets, switches and lights end up where you actually need them.
Do I need a certificate for new electrical work?
Yes. New circuits come with an Electrical Installation Certificate, and smaller additions to an existing circuit come with a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate. Work that is notifiable under Approved Document P also gets a Building Regulations compliance certificate, which we arrange through NAPIT.
| Job | Certificate | Notifiable under Part P? |
|---|---|---|
| Extra socket on an existing circuit (not in a bathroom) | Minor Works Certificate | No |
| New circuit, such as a cooker, shower or EV charger | Electrical Installation Certificate | Yes |
| Consumer unit replacement | Electrical Installation Certificate | Yes |
| Alteration to a circuit in a room with a bath or shower | Minor Works or Installation Certificate | Yes |
| Like-for-like replacement of a socket or light fitting | Not usually required | No |
Can you add sockets without rewiring the house?
Usually, yes. If the existing circuit is in good condition and has spare capacity, we can extend it to add sockets or lights. We test the circuit first and will tell you honestly if anything needs upgrading, including a partial or full rewire where the wiring is too old to extend safely.
How do new-build and renovation installations work?
New-build and renovation work is done in two stages. First fix runs the cables and back boxes before plastering; second fix fits the sockets, switches, lights and consumer unit once the walls are finished. We work alongside builders and plasterers so the electrics are ready at the right time.
Do you install three-phase and commercial systems?
Yes. We install three-phase supplies, distribution boards, LED and emergency lighting and power for offices, retail units, restaurants, warehouses, schools and industrial premises. Commercial electrical installations in Birmingham are scheduled to keep disruption to your business as low as possible, and every circuit is tested and certified before handover.
